Alouettes considering unique structure to football operations: report

The Montreal Alouettes are considering a unique football operations structure that would include a football operations president, a general manager and a head coach according to 3DownNation columnist and SportsNet reporter Arash Madani.

The general manager could be current special teams coordinator and former Edmonton Eskimos head coach Kavis Reed.

Reed accompanied team president Mark Weightman to league meetings in Winnipeg this week, which were attended exclusively by presidents and general managers.

The football operations president, a unique position between the general manager and Weightman could go to Danny Maciocia, the current head coach at the University of Montreal. Maciocia is said to be weighing his options.

At this point, interim coach Jacques Chapedelaine seems a lock to have his interim tag removed after going 4-2 after taking over from Jim Popp.
