Linebacker Keon Raymond, offensive tackle Xavier Fulton and defensive end Justin Capiccotti will all make their Hamilton debut when the Ticats host the Ottawa Redblacks on Friday.
All three were acquired this week as the team made a flurry of roster moves coming off their second bye week.
Raymond will start at strong side linebacker while Fulton will play left tackle. Capiccotti will play on special teams and in rotation on defence.
Terrence Campbell will move from left tackle to right tackle to replace Jeremy Lewis, who was injured in practice this week and is likely done for the season.
Running back C.J. Gable will return as the starter after missing two games with injury, replacing Michael Ford.
The Ticats may also look to start two Canadian defensive tackles, with Mike Atkinson joining all-star Ted Laurent up front (and Evan Gill in reserve.) That would give Hamilton better ratio flexibility in event of injury – they don’t have a healthy Canadian defensive back behind starting safety Mike Daly – but force American defensive tackle Drake Nevis to the bench.
American defensive end Delano Johnson and reserve Canadian defensive back Shane Herbert were injured in the Oct. 1 game Calgary, are out.
The team also released a pair of defensive backs on Wednesday as Brandon Sermons, who started against the Stamps, and D.J. Hunter were let go.
