The Saskatchewan Roughriders have acquired Canadian defensive back Andrew Lue from the Montreal Alouettes for a fourth round pick in 2018.
The CFL trade deadline was at 4 p.m. EST today.
Lue was a second round pick (No. 10 overall) by the Alouettes in 2014 and has played in 22 games over three seasons, though none this year.
The 25-year-old is set to be become a free agent after this season and was clearly not in the Alouettes’ plans. He was an All-Canadian defensive at Queen’s University and will get the chance to finish the season with a Saskatchewan club trying to upgrade its Canadian talent level.
