The trash talking battle between Calgary Stampeders running back Jerome Messam and Hamilton Tiger-Cats linebacker Simoni Lawrence now has a before, a during and an after,
Messam got things rolling before the game with this interesting use of the poop emoji…
Saw @Simoni_Lawrence in the store today. Told him I hope he has a 💩y game. 😂 pic.twitter.com/phV2kvRqPO

Things continued during the game with Messam blowing Lawrence a kiss after he scored a touchdown early in the fourth quarter.
These things usually end with the final whistle but it would appear that things weren’t friendly post-game. This exchange between Messam and teammate Marquay McDaniel indicates that McDaniel may have refused to shake Lawrence’s hand after the game, which Calgary won 30-24.
After @_McDaniel16 slammed @Simoni_Lawrence on his head he calmed down. 😂 #thegamewithinthegame

@JMessam tried to shake my hand after the game.

Things spilled over into Monday, with Messam captioning a photo taken by photographer Johany Jutras.

Simoni responded…
That 3.3 average had us petrified @JMessam

And followed up with a Drake lyric…
“Always gotta play it smarter cause in every situation I’m the biggest artist” true true …

Ticat teammate Ted Laurent liked that one…

More on this as warranted but it’s probably worth mentioning that these two teams play each other again in Hamilton on Oct. 1…
