The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have re-signed free agent Canadian linebacker Frederic Plesius, per CFL sources.
The 28-year-old Plesius was originally a second round pick of the Ticats in the 2012 draft and has played 50 games over three seasons, registering 24 tackles and an interception. He has made a significant contribution on special teams, leading the team with 19 last season.
With the departure of starting middle linebacker Taylor Reed to Calgary, Plesius will likely compete for a starting job this season. His new deal, which was first reported by 3DownNation’s Justin Dunk, is for two years.
