The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have agreed to terms with former Ticats kicker Justin Medlock, sources say.
The 32-year-old has played five seasons in the CFL, including three with the Ticats in two separate stints. He hit on 89.4 per cent of his field goals last season, led the CFL scoring and nailed a 47-yard game-winner in the East semi-final win over Toronto. For his career, Medlock has connected on 87.5 per cent of his field goals.
With Medlock gone, the Ticats may now turn to one of the other free agent kickers available, including former Argonaut Swayze Waters. Ex-Bomber kicker Lirim Hajrullahu, the 25-year-old who grew up in St. Catharines and played university ball at Western, has reportedly signed a one-year deal in Toronto.
Medlock became a free agent at noon on Tuesday, one of over 30 Hamilton players to hit the market.
