Esks fast campers – Day 1 notes

Chris Jones wastes little time and appears to have little patience for those who do.  The Eskimos second year head coach, freshly inked to a contract extension through 2016, keeps his answers short and likes his teams to work and play fast.

That was clearly evident the team went through it’s paces on opening day of training camp in Spruce Grove, just outside Edmonton.   While pleased with the effort during the first session Jones says “once we took the pads off them in the second session it kind of slowed down and our concentration could have been better”.

Day 1 notes:

The Esks announced seven free agent signings and the retirement of national offensive lineman Steve Myddleton.

Notable on-lookers included, U o Alberta Head Coach Chris Morris and fellow Eskimo O-lineman Tim Prinsen, former Esks Rick Walters and Jed Roberts and club President and CEO Len Rhodes.
