Bombers lighting up Investors Group Field to honour Humboldt Broncos

The Humboldt Broncos tragedy has united rivals in many sports, including the Blue Bombers and Riders.

The Winnipeg football club will light up Investors Group Field in Humboldt Broncos colours – green and gold – for one hour from 8:30 to 9:30 pm CST to honour the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League team after they were involved in a tragic bus crash last Friday.

“In light of this unimaginable tragedy, no words seem to suffice to clearly express our anguish and heartbreak for the community of Humboldt,” said President & CEO, Wade Miller in a statement. “We stand in compassion with all those affected and wish them strength and comfort as they begin the healing process.”

    Great show of support.

  4. Winnipeg has been awesome. At the Saturday night NHL game both the Jets and Chicago Black Hawks had B R O N C O S on the backs of their jerseys instead of their names.
Thanks from an old Saskatchewan hillbilly.

Sask Rush lacrosse game last Saturday had a moment of silence followed by a crowd led chant of “let’s go broncos”. It was very emotional. End of he third or started again and lasted a full 2 minutes. amazing how this tragedy has brought people together and sad that it takes tragedy to do that sometimes.
