So at the last Grey Cup in Ottawa, we held the inaugural 3Down GetDown and it was fun times.
It wasn’t particularly fancy, just fans from across the CFL hanging out with 3Down staffers and talking football. We drank a few beers, had a few laughs and watched the Vanier Cup. Look, here’s me talking pleasantly with a Rider fan who, if I remember correctly, is complimenting me on my beard (just kidding, nobody liked that beard.)
We had so much fun that we’re going to host another one at CFL Week in Winnipeg.
The venue comes highly recommended from our friends in the city, Shannon’s Irish Pub. It’s literally right across the street from the RBC Convention Centre where much of the CFL Week events are taking place. We’ll start at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 24 and wrap up… whenever it makes sense to go home, or slightly after.
I’ll be there. So will Justin Dunk. Probably a few other interesting people (John Hodge, Joel Gasson and a few of our Winnipeg media buddies.) We’ll talk some football, have some laughs, maybe drink some beer (or ginger ale for those so inclined.) They’ll likely be some free food.
Dunk might know a thing or two about Canadian university football prospects and so he’s a good person to ask about the combine.
Read 3DownNation on a semi-regular basis and coming to CFL Week this year? You’re invited. Vaguely aware of our existence? Come on by. Dislike us intensely and want to tell us in person? Let’s have a beer and talk it out.
Hey Duron? You’re invited, too.
We’d like to have a sense of how many people are coming, so grab a ticket here. Like this site, they’re free. But please only snag one if you plan on being there.
