James Franklin becomes a father, captures experience perfectly

James Frankin became a father for the first time on Tuesday and it was clearly a transformative experience for the Toronto Argonauts quarterback.

Franklin posted a series of photos to his Twitter that included a heart-warming tribute to new mom Kaylee.

Fathers who have been lucky enough to have been present when their kids were born – I was there for the birth of my two girls – will likely recognize the accuracy in which Franklin describes the experience: utterly helpless and yet somehow an integral part of the process. It is, without question, the most incredible and impressive feat of human strength and endurance I’ve ever seen.

Franklin also posted a pic of Kaylee and Adelynn…

As well as a pic of him holding his new daughter.

Congrats to James and Kaylee… and thanks for the reminder on the importance of the fantastic effort put forward by moms everywhere. There’s football tough – then there’s motherhood tough.

    Nice story

    Not a football story.

Good for him. It’s tough to raise kids, and they need two parents. It is not coincidence that successful people follow these guidelines. God Bless and I hope the Ti Cats beat the Argos this year.

  4. One of the BEST STORIES I have read on this website in a long time. Just shows how football is just a sidelight compared to the birth of their child for many or most of the guys we root for when on the field. Best wishes to Adelynn, Kaylee and James on a wonderful addition to the ARGO FAN CLUB!!

Jim, PUH-LEASE! Lots of players’ wives and girlfriends have babies. Why should the fans care about such things? I’ll take another Johnny Manziel story even! LOL

    • Don’t read the “not a football story” stories then, and your beef will be solved and stress relieved.

  6. Wow what a nice guy. He definitely deserves almost as much as Masoli and more than that big Dick’s (Sporting Goods) Manziel for sitting on the bench for 2 years. The Canadian Friendly League or CFL is all about super nice guys staying out of trouble and being family men with cut cuddly daughters and cheer leader wives. AAAW so cute. But can the dude play QB for 200K a year? Who knows. But 2 years not sitting on the bench the whole time and getting 8 starts in the Not For Long NFL gets you nothing in the CFL.

  7. Would some of you give it a rest. Jame Franklin is a football player and his wife just gave birth to a daughter. This is terrific news and I for one like to read what happens to CFL players when they are off the field. This story is great and shows the human side of the players.

Ron, well I guess James Franklin’s clean cut G-rated family values didn’t rub off on X-rated life of teammate Euclid Cummings in his off the field life.
I wish Franklin much success in T.O. apprenticing under Ricky Ray.

You idiots like Edward need to get a life. This is a great story on the family side of players who become parents just like anyone else. After reading all this garbage about that bozo Manziel and other crap this is a great story. Like a breath of fresh air. Didn’t see you guys complaining about the story Manziels ex girlfriend posted on 3 DN about how he punched her out and threatened to kill her etc. and how she feared for her life. Sure doesn’t sound like a “football” story to me. Sounds like something out of a horror movie.
