3DownNation Green Cast: Zach Collaros, Kevin Glenn and Chris Getzlaf

Welcome to the 3DownNation Green Cast.

In the podcast’s very first episode, co-hosts Joel Gasson and John Fraser discuss the Riders acquiring quarterback Zach Collaros from the Hamilton Ticats, releasing quarterback Kevin Glenn and the retirement of Canadian receiver Chris Getzlaf along with a bunch of gibberish.

    Good Podcast.
    Fun to listen too.
What was not mentioned is the fact the riders had at least 2 least 2 less draft picks than anyone else. They then trade your second pick one for a QB that just needs to be “serviceable” (their words). This likely speaks to an organization thinking short term and not long term.
This has been the way for awhile in riderville. While it may result in some success, it will also result in many “off years”.
Riderfans must ask themselves what they want as a fan base. Occasional, short term success (at best) with many off seasons of big personnel loses combined with huge FA signings, or boring off seasons that bring long term sustainability and success??

As a rider fan I support my team. I don’t agree with all the decisions that are made. In saying this I worry about the riders. Not the rest of the league. Try not to running down what everyone else is doing. Our dressing rooms are not perfect but this is what we have

You are completely full of it! All we see from your comments is another Calgarian throwing daggers towards the green team when they can. Truthfully you have no idea what your talking about. All that Alberta Manure must be piling up replacing brain cells.

  2. You misspelled majestic. 3

He gets a lot of things wrong.

Congrats on the podcast launch. Two concerns that make this hard to listen to. John’s audio quality is poor. And dispense with the happy talk off the top. Not funny. Not interesting. Boring.

Of course, with the automatic spell check provided, I clearly allowed this spelling.
Magestic meaning magical as opposed to majestic meaning beautiful or scenic, which McMahon clearly isn’t!!!

Now he creates new words. Languages next I guess.

I wonder wear James Franklin is today?
Probably in Toronto looking for places to live.

I wonder wear Zack Collaros is today?
Probably in his home, on the phone with some rider staffer, who is making inquiries into places to live during the season. Lease must start May 18 (the day before physicals) and end Nov 26 (the day after the last possible day the riders season could last- although I’m sure he will be able to depart some weeks prior to this). The last thing on his mind is actually living there.
That’s not to say Regina isn’t a nice place. What is does say is there no culture of family or community in the rider organization. You play and you leave. No time or bother for commitment. It’s about a pay cheque, not any legacy or memories.

    • Last I heard when he was traded, Collaros was on holiday in Mexico!

      • Magestic McMahon // January 6, 2018 at 6:33 pm //

        Oh really?
SO the riders are lying with these claims of contract re-negotiations

        • Green Pastures // January 6, 2018 at 8:07 pm //

Zach is in Mexico not his agent you dumbass

          • Thankfully there’s this cool communications technology that allows people to talk to each other from all over the world.

In fact, it allowed CFL reporters to interview Collaros from his vacation site so we could know how he feels about the trade.

I wonder if the agent and player would use it too when discussing contract details? Hmmm.

You should be wondering “where” they are not “wear”.

And I love how you know exactly what is going through the mind of a player, in such great detail.

      Fiction can be fun.

    • Maybe run those comments by Rob Bagg, Durant, Getzlaf, Dressler, Chick, George Reed, Don Narcisse, Luc Mullinder, Gene Makowsky, Eddie Davis, etc before deciding an organization has no legacy or memories, or a sense of community.

    where not wear lol

  9. Green Pastures // January 6, 2018 at 8:55 pm //

So now we know how BLM’s “contract” was negotiated. Interesting. But not really. After all, Stamps GM doesn’t live IN Calgary. Does he.

Good podcast, guys. Looking forward to the next instalment.

One thing I would say is that John’s audio quality isn’t the best, and at times he comes through really quietly and distant, so I turn it up and promptly get my eardrums blown out by Joel’s booming voice. I’m no audio guy, but a better mic might take care of that.

    Nice work guys.
