Wanna see a 59-yard field goal to win a USports playoff game? Of course, you do.

That’s Calgary kicker Nike DiFonte crushing a 59-yarder to beat the UBC Thunderbirds on the last play of regulation to win the Hardy Cup.

Here’s a couple more angles.

That’s good stuff right there.

Calgary now goes on to face Laval in the Mitchell Bowl next weekend.

I watched this fantastic game on Canada West TV. One of the best games I have seen in Usports football. No CFL kicker has done this that I know of. U of C Dinos were awesome team all season long. Dinos were in the West Hardy Cup now for 9 straight years and winning seven. On to the Vanier Cup. Could meet Laval again this year, same as last season. Go Dinos and Stamps

  3. Laval again… OMG…. When will they level the playing field and make Laval play by the same rules.

McCallum holds the CFL record for the longest field goal. He made a 62-yard kick against the Edmonton Eskimos in 2001, when he played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

    • It’s a Canadian university record. McCallum has CFL record but should be noted that was indoors. The pro record is 64 outdoors in Denver and all time record is 67 and occurred in NCAA

Wow, incredible. If this guy has some consistency, we’ll see him in the pros.

Western looks pretty good, but the Quebec conference has been the class of the league recently so the final 4 should be interesting this year.

  6. Dino s always seem to come up short against Laval. Last year came close in Vanier Cup.
    Sat ..dinos to Vanier
    Sun…stamps to Grey…
All at historic Mcmahon.. how else would the football gods have it????..
