Eskimos make John Chick a healthy scratch on Thanksgiving

John Chick was a healthy scratch for Edmonton on Thanksgiving Monday.

After being acquired from the Hamilt0n Tiger-Cats in a last-August trade, the 34-year-old defensive end played in five games for the Eskimos and did not record a sack. With Phillip Hunt coming off the injured list, he missed two games, Chick was scratched in his favour.

Chick made two sacks in eight games for Hamilton this season. Just one year ago, he put up 14 sacks which tied for the most in the East Division. So his production has certainly gone down.

  1. They should scratch him for the rest of the season.
    He’s been totally ineffective.

Time has caught up with him. I can’t see him back for another year.

  3. Tough for Chick as he works so hard at his craft. At least he can finally enjoy a win with the team even if he didn’t play.

  4. I think Chick is done. Oh well, with all that money the Riders paid him he should be able to take a little time off now to help his wife with their EIGHT KIDS! Maybe Hamilton can give him a job in the community. I hear he’s good with … kids.
