B.C. Lions QB Travis Lulay out for the season

B.C. Lions quarterback Travis Lulay will miss the rest of the CFL season due to a right knee injury.

The team says he will be placed on the six-game injured list and will not return to action in 2017.

The Lions did not reveal specifics on the injury, only saying an MRI exam Monday afternoon confirmed Lulay’s “significant” injury.

It’s believed he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament after being tackled by Montreal’s Branden Dozier in Friday’s 41-18 victory over the Alouettes.

Lulay entered the game as the CFL’s highest rated passer.

Wishing one of the classiest people in the CFL a complete and speedy recovery!!

  2. Such a pity to see all these starters go down. In Lulay’s case, he was having such an outstanding year as an unexpected starter. He is indeed a class act.

Best wishes on a 1005 recovery and resumption of a career that is far from done.

  4. Classy guy who deserves better from the football gods. Hope to see him in uniform next season.

This very much sux for Travis … and the Lions. I read they signed Mitch Gale … who is quietly catching up with Kevin Glenn for number of CFL teams played for! With Trevor Harris added to the 6 game, perhaps the value of Zach Collaros has just gone uo for RB’s, Riders AND Lions …

  6. Speedy recovery Travis.

  7. He’s all class and even when he was not playing is was/is the leader of our team. 50 years of being a BC Lion fan and he is on my list of all-time favourites. Too many to just pick one but he is up there among the best of the best.

  8. Man – that’s crappy news. His knowledge and passion for the game will still be front and center on the sidelines or in the booth for the rest of the season.
