Duron Carter says Bomber fan spit on him, calls them ‘worst in the league’

Saskatchewan Roughrider receiver Duron Carter says a Winnipeg Blue Bomber fan spit on him before Sunday’s game in Regina as he was signing autographs for fans.

Carter took to Twitter Monday morning to make his accusation, along with an assessment of Bomber fans and a follow-up to Sunday’s 38-24 win. There’s a lot going on in this Tweet.

Fans responded, most expressing sympathy for Carter – who had 10 catches for 101 yards, including another spectacular grab – with some apologizing on behalf on Bomber fans. But this being social media, a Bomber fan used poor grammar to chirp Carter and call him names.

That got a response from Carter…

The Banjo Bowl will be played at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg next Saturday.

  1. Yes there is a certain faction of bomber fans who are absolute scum. Two years ago a friend went to the game in Winnipeg and parked near the stadium in his Saskatchewan plated vehicle. After the game he returned to his car to find it coated with spit.Last year he went again with a friend in a Manitoba plated vehicle. After the game no spit this time.

And one time at McMahon I had foot prints across my hood, roof and trunk with my Alberta plates. This is the sign of a drunk idiot not a specific attack of one fan base against another

      • Unsportsmanlike conduct and game misconduct to the Stumps fan with horse prints on his back.

      • I think that’s a fair (non Rider) comment horse. In all fairness there are “completely classless” fans in every city. Spoils it for the ones that love a day out and enjoy this great game. Go out, cheer hard and bubble wrap your car today horse….looks to be a great day for football.

    • There’s a certain faction of ANY fanbase that are scum. FTFY

  2. white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 10:57 am //

Carter is who he thought he was. A talent but an unhinged time bomb

    • I guess you read into what you want. ….he said the old him would of done something about it….the new and matured Carter kept on walking

    • You know what “white donkey in red” you are right in their with the fans that spit and do hooligan damage to people’s property.
Carter gets spit on by a Bomber fan in his own park and you side with the fBomber fan that has created an embarrassment for all Bomber fans. Proves just how ignorant you really are.
I know every self respecting Bomber fan would love to eject that fan from the group known as Bomber fans. If the same thing happened and a Rider fan did that in Winnipeg. 99% of Rider fans would want them out of the fan base.
It sounds like you would be proud of a Stampeder fan doing that. In fact it sounds like you wish you were the one doing the spitting.
You are an embarrassment to your fan base. I know many Calgary fans and they too would be disgusted with such an act.

      • Totally agree, Well said!!

The donkey in red needs his head examined but I am afraid if they did they’d find nothing more than a Big “Vaccum” in a Stump.

    • He’s almost as bad as former Stumpeder Lawrence Phillips.

  3. white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 11:11 am //

If Carter was signing autographs there likely would have been people recording him. Also if a Bomber fan spat on him Rider fans would have ganged up and an incident would have occured. At that point someone for sure would be recording…if anyone had video please come forward.

    • Careful you spit when you speak

    • Multiple game misconduct for repeated conduct.

    • Wow stallion. You are a classless impecile.. way to support the drunk, innapropreate behavior of the bummer fans. Tried to take gainors head off and spits on Rider players. That’s classless. And you could be tied into that same group as them. That’s rediculous! I hope they find out who they were and place an assault charge on the guy who spit and a lifetime ban for the rest of them.

I’m not defending anything that can be proven to have actually happened RobE

          denial anything Riders

        • George Porge // September 6, 2017 at 8:43 pm //

So you’re going to hide behind the “pics or it didn’t happen” mantra, eh Horsie?

It doesn’t take a lot of imagination to think that Carter’s story is plausible to the point of “it probably happened”, here. But then again, nobody could accuse you of actually having a lot of imagination.

    • C’mon horse…….so now this didn’t happen – is that really what you are saying ?

    • I spoke to a Bomber fan at a bar in Regina that night. He said he couldn’t believe how well the Rider fans treated him. He said if I was Winnipeg, we wouldn’t get treated so good, they would want to fight etc. He said people with SK plates get their cars wrecked and so on by Bomber fans and he was embarrassed by their behavior

  4. BaronVonKilmister // September 4, 2017 at 11:13 am //

White stallion, you are wrong sir, there is most definitely a certain faction of both MB and SK fan bases that are complete disrespectful idiots. You, not being part of either fan base, cannot make an educated comment

    • white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 11:18 am //

You make it sound like there is a inherent hatred between the 2. Like when a dog sees a cat.

    • Lack of education? No doubt. Horsee’s been in the horse manger far too long. Obviously, there are factions with any team that don’t deserve to be allowed into a CFL stadium. One Labour Day Classic in 2007 had three Bomber fans physically throwing a Roughrider fan (who was in a drunken stupor) around like a rag doll until I intervened and called for security. We don’t need fans like that. But shame on those fans (one grabbing at Gainer) and the other spitting at Carter. I hope that fan gets removed for a lengthy period of time. We saw police and security move in for the rest of the game when that happened. Now they have some photo proof who this fan was. Shame on him. Makes a bad name for the Bomber fans that travelled to Saskatchewan. Really too bad.

      • white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 11:36 am //

How can you tell this fan is ” grabbing” Gainer. Could be a Hi 5.

        • C’mon, is that while several security and police officers were looking for that person? And Gainer was there, pointing at the Bomber fans. Get real for a change, horsee.

          • white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 11:46 am //

What? What security? What finger pointing? All is see us a grainy photo with an assumed Bomber fan reaching out

          • horsemouth, were you at the game? We were at the 20-yard line watching the whole episode unfold in the Pilsner section. And Gainer was there, pointing at some of the Bomber fans. And for your knowledge, security multiplied considerably in the Pilsner section for the rest of the game, plus there were a handful of police officers dressed in uniform and questioning several of the Bomber fans. Get a life!!!

          • white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 12:12 pm //

Fine..I don’t condone assaulting a mascot. Shame on him

          • Horsie.. your’re an idiot. That’s it. It was so peaceful when you didn’t open your yap.

      • riderontheisland // September 5, 2017 at 3:13 pm //

was it last year that some Bombers fans verbally abused a young boy (who also was a Bombers fan) just for wearing a green sweatshirt. This was a reported fact, so how is it so hard to believe that one did it to Carter in the face.

  5. white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 11:25 am //

In terms of the Gainer incident. You can’t tell anything from that. The fan might be high 5ing, might be patting his head or shoulder….who knows.

Most rider fans are decent people. However if you want to get into an argument about unruly and poor behavior you will not win. Fans everywhere have complaints and have stories about the riders coming to their stadium.

  6. Being spit on is an awful experience. Happened to me playing hockey 40 years ago and I still remember it.

    • white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 11:32 am //

It is horrible, gross and degrading

    • Not only is spitting on another person vile and disgusting – it is considered a form of Assault under the Criminal Code of Canada. I’ve been loaded at plenty of football games and witnessed a lot of cap – but that is something else. That person must have been some special kind of stupid

  7. Derek lafrenie // September 4, 2017 at 11:39 am //

Last year that kid in Winnipeg got beer dumped on him. They thought he was a rider fan.

  8. white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 11:40 am //

Spitting is unacceptable, but calling Bomber fans “the worst in the league” shows how selfish he is.
He has now doubled the target size him and the riders will have on their back next weekend. And with one statement he’s increased his and the scrutiny the riders will have.
He’s just made winning a big game next week even harder!!!

    • Another crude statement with absolutely no facts to back this statement up. Sorry, but you’re not making any points with anyone.

    • RJ Johnson Jr // September 4, 2017 at 11:47 am //

What the ….. How the heck would this make him a target? And by who. Are they carrying guns to the game now. ANYONE involved in the game, as in the players is smart enough to know that if you make one person a “target”, all it does is free up another player.

And, if anything said by anyone on social media had any influence on a player or team, they’re in the wrong line of work.

      • white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 11:58 am //

If course these aren’t literal targets. It’s a metafore. Meaning already loud fans will be louder especially to Carter while he’s on the bench and over time I’m not sure he will handle it well. Stuff like that also goes up on the bulletin board in the bombers locker room. Providing a little extra fuel to the players fire!

    • Horsie you need to just stop commenting. You are making yourself seem even more stupid than you actually are. What if someone tried to trip your white horse while they are riding around after a touchdown!? Or how about a fan spitting on one of your players!? Maybe bo levi? That’s what I thought. Just shut your mouth. You have nothing positive to bring to these threads.. so just stop.

      • white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 12:01 pm //

I’m sure if someone spit on a stamp he wouldn’t call out the entire fan base.especially if they were playing again the next week in their stadium!

        • No….they would just MOON the entire fanbase.

        • Hey HorsesASS! You didn’t answer me. What if someone tried to trip up your horse while it rode around the stadium? Tell me? You seem to beat around the bush when statements don’t conform to your ideologies. You ruin these threads with your crap. How they allowed you to come back is f’in ridiculous.

          • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 1:17 pm //

First off, if someone wants to try and trip a horse running at you full speed more power to you!
Of course I don’t condone trying to take gainers head off. If that occured this moron should be kicked out as should anyone spitting on Carter…my point is what proof from the evidence given was that occurring? Look at the pic!

          • It may be time for you to get your glasses checked man. And then look at the picture again. You can clearly see his hand under the chin of gainer, and his other arm around on the back of the helmet.. in the position of ripping off the head. To say there is no proof… Cmon man. I know you hate the Riders, but use common sense.
I know its not so common in this world any more.
And then there was the fact that gainer stood in the endzone with security and pointed directly at the fans that did it. Sigh.. You just can’t fix stupid people.

          • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 1:58 pm //

Fine Rob…just to stop this ridiculousness I’ll agree with you. I cleaned my glasses and put in eye drops and yes I can clearly see from this crystal sharp picture the guy in a blue shirt is trying to tear the head off Gainer.
What’s the intention of showing this? What’s the point of defending Carter?…..seems like the rider base is wanting to show belligerence and spread ill will for next week. Why?

          • They say they can fix anything with duct tape….just can’t fix your stupidity can we horsie

          • Whats the point of mentioning this? Umm for one, gainer or even the guy doing the ripping could have been seriously injured from this incident. And the point of defending Carter is because some drunk pissant literally assaulted a player by spitting on him. Whats to question here? Its crystal clear.. the guys face is spread throughout the Rider fan pages. I’m sure the authorities have been contacted on both of these incidents and I hope that him/them get what they have coming to him/them.

          • They are not true CFL fans. Especially when you try and purposely injure or assault someone.

          • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 4:57 pm //

Well good. If these incidents are recorded then it’s appropriate the authorities deal with it and for due process to occur. There no place for fans to use these incidents as tools for Fandom war.

  9. RJ Johnson Jr // September 4, 2017 at 11:42 am //

Having lived in Winnipeg for a few years and having gone to a few games there, there fans ARE the worst. MY experience is that they are a bunch of drunk, foul mouthed baffoons. I will NEVER taken my family to a game there again. My children were swore at an had beer poured in them!!!

I get the intense rivalrys, but as a Rider fan, I’ve had great experiences in places like Edmonton and even Calgary. We’ve been teased and taunted in those stadiums, but we’ve also shared a laugh and a drink with the other teams fans in those stadiums. For whatever reason, a LOT (not all) Bomber fans are way too far over the top and it’s not good natured rivalry, it borders on hatred.

    • Thanks for bringing those comments onboard. But it probably won’t help someone like horsee, who has a hatred on the Riders no matter what. Just don’t mention anything negative about Bo Levi Mitchell. Poor horsee will go on a tirade.

      • RJ Johnson Jr // September 4, 2017 at 11:52 am //

The boll weevil (Anthonomus grandis) is a beetle which feeds on cotton buds and flowers. Thought to be native to Central Mexico,[1] it migrated into the United States from Mexico in the late 19th century and had infested all U.S. cotton-growing areas by the 1920s, devastating the industry and the people working in the American South. During the late 20th century, it became a serious pest in South America as well. Since 1978, the Boll Weevil Eradication Program in the U.S. allowed full-scale cultivation to resume in many regions.

        • white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 12:05 pm //

Maybe lay off Bo for a bit hey. He has a lot on his mind having g his hometown destroyed in last week’s Texas storm.

          • RJ Johnson Jr // September 4, 2017 at 12:10 pm //

Uh, I don’t really understand what poor Bo’s personal issues have to do with a story here regarding Winnipeg and Saskatchewan????

        • white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 12:16 pm //

I’m not sure why the issue of Bomber fans behavior has come around to BLM other than shows your jealousy of another stamp win coming today

          • Ignorance is bliss in Cowtown. Thankfully for the majority of Stamp fans people are smart enough not to believe they are all as ignorant and ridiculous as Horsee and his multiple personalities.

To the article however we all know that there are fans of all teams that do not behave as they should and the reality is 99% of them would not act as they do if they were not intoxicated. Took my 3 girls to their first labor day classic yesterday instead of it just being a Adult trip and they had a blast. We all visited with both Rider fans and Bomber fans and even getting pictures together etc. Now of course there were some not so good fans as well as evidenced by the incidents that happened. As always however you can’t paint all teams fans with the same brush.

  10. Similar to last year when several Winnipeg fans assaulted a mixed race single mother and her son at IGF. Hurling drinks and insults at them, because the son wore a green shirt. Doubtful this would have happened to a white single father. Doubtful that Dressler, Getzlaf or Fantuz were ever spat on when they played in the LDC or Banjo Bowl. Your racism is showing Winnipeg. Disgraceful conduct by fans in a league where “Diversity is Strength”. A complete investigation, legal action and life time bans from any CFL event or facility MUST be the penalty for this and any future future incident.

    • Wow, way to drag that incident, which was completely unsupported by actual evidence (although it apparently happened over the course of several minutes in a stadium packed with people) back from the dead. In fact, if I remember correctly there was some serious suspicion about whether or not the whole incident was merely a ploy for free tickets. Also, I don’t recall anything about anyone being “mixed race”. But who needs truth or facts when using anecdotes to disparage a whole province worth of fans, right?

      • How convenient to just say it didn’t happen and the victim and her son are liars in order to try and sweep things under rug. You’re worse of a coward for defending those people and minimizing the suffering of the victims than the people who actually attacked them.
I would invite you to watch the interviews with the victims and maybe do some reading before you try to say it didn’t happen or there is not evidence.
        Totally disgusting response.

        • you are a coward

        • Realistically, There are probably well over 25,000 Bomber fans, at any given game, young and old. 1 instance, that may or may not have happened, does not define the entire group of fans. Where were these oh so passionate Rider fans 4 or 5 weeks ago when every single one was calling for jones’ ass. Most Fickle Fans. Give Riders credit, they just came out with more firepower on Labour day.
Take a lap Evan. Go Bombers

  11. Glenn Chernick // September 4, 2017 at 11:59 am //

Ahh! I see Horsie changed his name so he could get back on this page to troll Rider fans! I wonder how long it will be before he gets kicked off and has to change monikers again

  12. Don Sutherland // September 4, 2017 at 12:10 pm //

I’m a rider fan but I recall a rider fan who dump manure on McCallum’s front lawn. Idiots are everywhere.

    • I don’t consider people like that as fans at all.

    • Actually that so call Rider fan was so dumb. He dumped it in McCallums neighbours driveway. Showing once again it takes the most stupid to embarrass a fan base.

  13. Green Stallion // September 4, 2017 at 12:12 pm //

    Carter= a stud,
Target? That’s exactly what he is hoping for! This man is for real!!!

  14. white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 12:19 pm //

We can all conclude there are bad fans everywhere. Most however are respectful and we’ll behaved. This is a story about Carter, not fan behavior

    • RJ Johnson Jr // September 4, 2017 at 12:27 pm //

Pony Boy, this is a story about Carters “reaction” to BAD FAN BEHAVIOUR. Dude, you should be in politics or something with how you try to always change the spin on things. This story is not about Calgary, the Stampeders, Bo Weeval or Texas. Just be patient oh little one, I’m sure there will be a story relating to you team, area, city, whatever later today.

    • Just stop posting as with each post you become less and less tolerable.

    • Huh…….correct the me if I’m wrong here horse – this story is all about a “fan” doing what he did TO Carter. You are the one who always spins the story involving anything Riders into negativity.

  15. I am a Bombers fan. You cannot lump all fans together. Some people are just ignorant. We used to go to the Labour Day Classic every year. We lost for many years in a row and every year certain Rider fans were not very nice. I was spit on for wearing my Bomber jersey and my husband was attacked while walking back to our hotel. Those events happened because of ignorant people not because of who they were cheering for. I was mad at the people who did the deed not the entire group of fans. When this happened some other Rider fans invited me into their limo and helped clean me up. There are good and bad people wearing all sorts of jerseys! Blame the individuals, don’t lump everyone together.

    • Well said and sorry that you and your husband experienced such actions by idiots. As referenced in my post above I took my girls to their first labor day game this year and the interactions were great with fans of both teams and even got some good photos with some Bomber fans too. At the end of the day the vast majority of fans are great and supportive of their teams and the league in general as well. Sadly there are always idiots and the actions of those idiots are generally remembered more than the positive interactions like what we experienced yesterday. I am glad my girls first game was a great experience for them.

    • Very well said Rebbeccah

    • RJ Johnson Jr // September 4, 2017 at 1:08 pm //

      Well put!!!

    • You are absolutely right Rebbeccah. Should not crucify all for the actions of a few.

    • Thank you for injecting some reason into this ridiculous discussion.

    • I fully agree, Rebbeccah. I shook hands with Bomber fans after the game. Most fans do keep their emotions in check. Unfortunately, it’s a few that make it bad for the others. Such as this story. When one sees what happened to Gainer, that’s absolutely classless. We all have our stories of unbelief at football games. Some worse than others. I guess this is one of those stories. Unfortunately, the story paints a bad picture of Bomber fans. But it is everywhere, and not only Bomber fans. Most, if not all of us, recognize that fact.

  16. Nothing new for some bomber fans last year at the banjo bowl in the parking lot atfer the game
bomber fans pour beer on a eleven year old who was wearing a rider sweater. It hit the news the Bomber club give him and his mother tickets to the next game.Only above 10 % of the bomber fans act this way.

  17. white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 12:46 pm //

Remembwr what they say about people in glass houses everyone. Rider fans pelted the bc lions with beer cans a few years ago remember. Wally had to remove his team from the sidelines

    • Embellish some more you deadbeat White Ass in Red.
I was at that game and I was less than 10 yards away from what happened.
In that game the BC player was super pissed bing tackled out of bounds. Immediately after the play he fired the ball into the crowd that was taunting him and he smoked an 11 year old girl in the face. The half dozen beer cans thrown was a retaliation. So stop your spin doctor crap. It doesn’t work.

  18. Smh Calgary Troll you know how the beer can incident started right? Lion gets a pick, runs to the bench, rifles the ball into the crowd nearly knocking out an elderly fan. A couple people were pissed and threw their drinks. A couple Lions threw these drinks back at the crowd. THEN the crowd threw a couple hundred back. I don’t condone any of that nor did I participate but I saw it happen close up and the players were not all innocent in it at all.

Back on topic, this is disgusting. Good on Carter for controlling himself. Bomber fans are nasty towards Rider fans, no question, but who wouldn’t be hostile after 27 years of disappointment?

    • white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 1:14 pm //

So a lion player throws the ball in the crowd and you throw beer cans AT the players. No excuse. Worse case if find behavior ever in North America. In sure it was only a few but still.

    • Actually it was a young girl that was smoked in the face by the football. That Lions player was so jacked from the fans taunting him earlier he wanted to pay back that area of fans. It sure back fired on him.

  19. White stallion forgets about the “moon over Mosaic” incident performed by Jon Cornish, so take his criticism with a grain of salt.

    • white stallion in red // September 4, 2017 at 1:12 pm //

What’s Cornish’s actions have to do with fan behavior?

    • George Porge // September 6, 2017 at 8:48 pm //

Because making a bunch of drunks look at your bare ass is the same thing as spitting on a player before a game. Ya O kay.

  20. As much as I really am not a Duron Carter fan, he does have talent. He does have a big mouth, and thirps a lot, but that’s all the game. But there’s no reason for anyone to spit on a human being. It’s degrading, and basically and technically is assault in the criminal code by law. If is fan can’t hold his liquor and is in fact prejudice (which is hard to prove) he should be banned from Mosiac. You can’t put the blame on all Bomber fans, for a few idiots.I think Carter was just expressing his disgust via social media (Twitter) as a result of disrespect from an IDIOT. I thought we are better then that in the CFL and especially Canada. No human being should be subjected to degrading treatment, especially a pro football player, signing autographs for the fans on the sidelines. Takes all kinds.

  21. White stallion, You’re disputing that the spitting incident ever happened, ” no picture, no proof”, blaming it on Carter ” he is who we thought he was a talent but an uninhibited time bomb” , or my favourite ” how can you tell he wasn’t hi 5ing gainer?” You’re on here commenting for one reason because you hate the riders, grow up!

  22. IMO the actions of that fan says more about the person’s character than what team he is a fan of

  23. This shit is just so low!! I only ask that all rider fans attending the banjo bowl please don’t act in this classless, low, embarrassing manner. Hold ourselves to a higher standard and stop this treatment of other people in it’s tracks!! If some piece of shit spits on you, by all means defend yourself but let’s let the Riders lay the beat down on those toothless, sister loving, uncle dad’s favorite team, the Blue Bombers, on the field for our redemption!!
I mean let’s look at why they are so ignorant and act like that: first off we beat them again, what’s the record? Oh yeah 35 of 52 and we won by more than a field goal. Last 2 wins bombers had here were by a field goal. Second, they have the ugliest jerseys in the league. Third, they come here and see Saskatchewan women and wish their sisters were that hot!
Can’t wait to stompdown the poop bombers in their barn!!

  24. I’m still wondering if White Donkey Jack Ass is the same dude that use to post on TSN as a Calgary fan all the time except when BC played. Then he called himself Lions fan.
Always disappeared when the Lions lost but showed up as a Calgary fan.
I say this because the comments are uncanny to the hatred of the Green Team and its incredible number of Rider fans.

  25. As a Rider fan in Calgary I stopped going to games for years. After another brutal beating by the Stamps as my wife and I were leaving the game (in our Rider jerseys of course) two classless and drunk individuals started taunting us over their big win and eventually spit on her as we turned away. I didn’t notice it until we were a few feet away and i was behind her. All i could think of is my buying tickets for that game was money for the Stamps. It was bad enough the Riders lost – yet having endure these idiots made me decide i will never spend my money that will go to the Stamps again.

  26. Judge Jones // September 4, 2017 at 3:11 pm //

Hey Greenrider89, In 1952 a dozen ruder fans kicked a Bomber fan until I stopped them
What kind of crap are you spreading around? Only Carter’s word and you know what that’s worth.

    • So what is your point? It happens everywhere, but obviously, you don’t understand that Judge Jones. Is this getting under your skin? Were you one of those Bomber fans old timer in my story of reference? Wake up call, buddy!!!

  27. Hard to believe someone would spit on any player. Even Duron Carter. What a wonderful opportunity missed for him. Instead of looking at himself and how he handles himself, he blames the fans. All of them. Just when I think maybe he’s making some progress as a human being, there he is again acting like a jack-ass.

    • Not hard at all Rick. So for Carter to say something is wrong. I’ve been to enough LDC’s to see on more than one occasion the BB fans losing their minds because they are losing he game. It’s not a stretch to think it happened. The only jack-ass are the ones condoning this action; check the mirror is you are still confused.

Everyone is jealous of the green atmosphere. Class and devotion! It’s not even a discussion to compare other teams fans. They only show up when winning!

  32. Funny how no Rider fan is talking about how one clown Rider Fan was ejected for calling Darvin Adams a “black monkey” and asking him where his fried chicken was. He was pointed out by other fans and was ejected. My nephew and I were sworn at on the July 1st game in Regina. My nephew was pushed and told to ” Get the F out of the way when we were walking out of the stadium. There are idiot fans everywhere not just Winnipeg

    • I don’t disagree at all. In fact, several comments by Rider fans state that there are factions of fans in every city, for every team, that let their emotions get the best of them. The story was on the emotions spewed out by two Bombers fans on the incident with Duron Carter and Gainer by 3downnation. But it doesn’t mean everyone is blaming Bomber fans. You’re taking this the wrong way. Don’t let this story get the best of you.

      • And to the guy that called Adams that should be banished from the Stadium. Plus why not throw an ass whooping in there as well for good measures. There is no need for any of that, at any CFL game.

  33. RE: Horsie’s A**!!!!!

Let’s get a petition going or send an email to Justin to get this guy banned.

Please lets get a petition or emails going to 3Down Nation to get this idiot Horsie with his IP Address banned off this forum or at least every Rider’s article. You can’t even have a good decent football discussion without this jerk interjecting news junk about the Stamps.

He’s definately not playing with a full deck and consequently it’s ruining what should be good decent CFL fan forum banter.

    • It was so peaceful that whole day without him

    • George Porge // September 5, 2017 at 2:39 pm //

“Please lets get a petition or emails going to 3Down Nation to get this idiot Horsie with his IP Address banned off this forum or at least every Rider’s article. You can’t even have a good decent football discussion without this jerk interjecting news junk about the Stamps.”

That would work great – except it wouldn’t really have much of an effect since most ISPs change up residential IP addresses periodically. Unless you plan to ban everyone from Alberta on the same ISP as horsie, it isn’t going to work.

What 3Down should do is actually get a comments section that actually requires people to sign up with a verified e-mail address that isn’t from guerillamail or some other “fake” e-mail service. Then you might actually have some luck getting him banned.

      • or have it verify with facebook or something. If you don’t have anything to hide, then why would that be a problem. All of these keyboard warriors would go into hiding real quick. This way they act up, its simple ban of your facebook at that point. I would love to see what horsie actually looks like.

        • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 5:02 pm //

Why do you what I look like?

          • Why not? Would finally get to put a face to the name(s). Lol

I think honestly that 3down should move towards the facebook authorization. It would clean things up substantially.. it would save drew and the team a ton of work. It just makes sense.
If someone wants to chirp and hide, they can’t anymore. It might take away from these “tough”, armchair warriors poking their heads out.

          • George Porge // September 6, 2017 at 2:12 pm //

Some of the best comment systems (one of them being Facebook itself) can be easily integrated into the current website and already has all the authorization and moderation tools included. The CFL website used to use Disqus which I thought was a pretty good one, but it looks like they switched to plain ol’ Facebook instead (liked Disqus better).

Either way, there are a heck of a lot of systems out there that are better than this one. Drew and Dunk and company – make it happen already!

        • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 5:44 pm //

        • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 5:57 pm //

Amomininity on the internet with Facebook or another means is as easy to obtain as the air we breath

  34. They are everywhere. Classless people I mean. Some years ago we had season tickets to the Stampeder games. My son was dressed in Eskimo gear — being a fan and all. By the 3rd quarter he was soaked in beer tha was poured on him by Stamp fans. Not too happy. But — the very large number of Stamp fans were in our experience great people whether barbecuing before or during the game. I wore green and white many times there and only picked up a few boos — but just good times.

  35. Colour me green // September 5, 2017 at 1:43 am //

Rod Pedersen on his radio show said that Stamps fans have cause more problems than other teams fans. Fights after the games it sounded like.
Bomber fans have had issues for years some documented here. Regina police were contacted on the gainer incident on Sunday.
The headless horseman is probably a lone voice in the stamps chat room and having no friends needs to comment in the Riders. It is sad, just never answer the guy and ignore him/her. Problem solved.

    • Pedersen is, seriously, honestly, the biggest clown in the CFL media. It’s hard to believe anyone pays him. But actually, he fits in pretty nicely with the CFL’s biggest clown, Jones. I almost feel bad for you Rider fans. Why do you put up with such idiots? No one is perfect but your guys are really, really, at the bottom of the pile.

      • No need to comment like that, Brad. I agree, Rod Pederson has no right to run down any team in the CFL as having the worst fans. No one can judge who has the worst, or who has the nicest fans in any city for that matter. That’s an absolutely biased opinion by Rod Pederson. And I don’t agree with all of Chris Jones’ doings, but he has shown many, including myself, he has a vision that is starting to produce results. Great game, Riders. And good luck, Bombers.

    • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 10:14 am //

Oh well…I guess if Rod Peterson speaks it must be true!!

  36. The spitter was probably fueled by booze , no excuse still , but morons
seem to lose even more of their limited brain power as the booze consumption increases and they feel the need to ” express their loyalty ” to their team by assaulting another team’s player from the safety of their seat…. guy should be charged for assault!

    • No doubt he should be charged with assault for being a moron. Unlikely he will be caught. If you recall the bottle throwing incident at SkyDome (known as Rogers Centre), it didn’t take very long for the person to be caught throwing a bottle on the field at the Baltimore Orioles’ player with cameras everywhere inside the New Mosaic. I’m certain, if the league wanted to actually catch the Bombers’ fan that tried to remove Gainer’s head, I’m quite certain he could be indicted for the other offence. But that might not be the publicity the league wants. But it raises some interesting questions.

  37. white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 10:17 am //

I would remind those riding the moral high horse……at one time tailgating was banned at McMahon because of rider fans.. also chain link fences where installed at the ends of the bleachers…again because rider fans kept running in the field

  38. If what Duron says it’s true, and I have no reason to doubt him, then that fan should be banished from EVERY CFL stadium.

AND, that animal should be made to apologize, IN PERSON, to the player he did it to in front of his teammates.

Your ticket allows you to cheer your team and even boo the opposition.

But, there is NO place….and I mean NO place for that kind of behaviour.

  39. justforkicks // September 5, 2017 at 11:08 am //

Ignorant fans (questionable title at times) can spoil the game for both sides.
All you have to do is read SOME of the comments here from all team bases to get the picture. Carter was wrong to say what he did about ALL fans but in the heat of the moment that can happen. I hope the rest of fandom can rise above these incidents and that there will be no retaliation or revisiting of these issues next week. Nothing good can come of it and media exploiting these issues only incites. News is news but time to settle down and watch (play) football.

  40. white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 11:17 am //

That tweet is posted in every kicker if the blue bombers this week. Silly comment by a still immature man and teammate

    • What is immmature and clearly unacceptable is a person spitting on another, NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES.

If someone had done that to me, I would be beyond furious, I’d be wanting desparately to get my hands on that animal.

Save the “silly” comment for the moron who did it.

    • justforkicks // September 5, 2017 at 11:33 am //

  42. Hey HorsesASS! You didn’t answer me above. What if someone tried to trip up your horse while it rode around the stadium? Tell me? You seem to beat around the bush when statements don’t conform to your ideologies. You ruin these threads with your crap. How they allowed you to come back is f’in ridiculous.

  43. white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 2:36 pm //

OK so here is a healthy way to few this.
Carter say he was spat on. I’m sure he has no reason to lie. Maybe it happened or maybe he felt a liquid on is skin coming from somewhere that he interpreted as a particular Bomber fan spitting. Who knows. The point is what good comes from his angry, disrespectful tweet? He called this guy names and called out all Bomber fans.
Would a better response not have been. ” I was spat on today from a fan, let’s all remember to respect each other and enjoy our shared interested in football”.
To me this response still shows his immaturity.

    • George Porge // September 5, 2017 at 2:45 pm //

This is football, dude, not a political debate. There is a ton of emotion in every football player. I’d expect a diplomatic response from a coach, not a player – especially a young player known for wearing his heart on his sleeve like Carter.

I can just imagine if someone had spat on Nik Lewis – especially back in the day.

      • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 2:56 pm //

..back in the day..yes back in the day Nik would have responded poorly. We was very immature too which is my point. If you’ll recall Nik was a highly criticised around the league for his ways in fact we was on very thin ice at one point.
As a pro it behooves players to be responsible and professional in all public aspects. Including promoting civil Fandom and not alienating an entire fan base

        • And now Nik’s theleader in catches amoung other things?
Maybe you can take this as a realization that it takes some people to mature a bit longer than others.(AKA nik lewis)
Lets not forget that Duron is 26.. He’s got 10 years of maturing to get caught up to Nik. And even then Nik has his slip up’s here and there. I seem to remember him calling out his QB’s in montreal because he wanted to see the ball more. He’s not perfect, but he’s gotten a ton better.
He’s been an outstanding teammate this year(not a distraction) and is loved by all of the fans in Riderville. All he does it play with his heart on his sleeve. Lets lynch him for doing that eh? Makes a lot of sense. I believe him when he said he got spit on. Its the exact same section that tried to rip gainers head off and that has already been proven.

          • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 5:06 pm //

I hope he does RobE. We will see. His heart is in the right place and he has potential to be a great ambassador to this league..Mondays comments do not help him

          • He seems to be on the up and up.

Sounds like the blue bomber fan that was causing the trouble was kicked out of the stadium and banned. Carter didn’t want to want to press charges or have the police involved any more than they were. Just to have him kicked out. Good on Duron, I wouldn’t have been so nice.

  44. You run by me and I spit on you and tell me you are going to say that….I will call you a lying POS 100 times out of 100. Give your head a shake man…I used to think your ignorance was an act but it is clear you truly are. The ignorance it would take to actually spit on someone nevermind defending one that did is mind blowing.

    • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 3:06 pm //

If someone spits on you violence is never the solution. To be honest I’m not sure how I’d respond.
I’m not a public figure. Carter is. He called out the ENTIRE fanbase.
If I spat on you would you lash out against all 44 year old white males??

  45. If this was a Rider fan or Eskimo fan spitting on BLM you would want the damn army called in man. The double standard with you is truly sad.

    • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 3:11 pm //

Mike no on is defended the act. This is all alleged and can’t be proven. That’s not to say it didn’t happen. I think the high road makes you far more respected that what the already beleaguered Carter did.
You say I’m defending the action…I say you’re defending his statement about Bomber fans

      • riderontheisland // September 5, 2017 at 3:18 pm //

can you just shut up already. You will never quite no matter how wrong you are.

        • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 3:24 pm //

How can you blame me for suggesting the high road? Carter is making an allegation he can’t even prove. What good comes if his comments. Tell me?
Do you think the rider brass are patting Carter in the back today for these comments!

          • Hey Horsie.. you ever hear of the term Circumstantial Evidence? Just in case you haven’t

Also known as indirect evidence, this type of evidence is used to infer something based on a series of facts separate from the fact the argument is trying to prove. It requires a deduction of facts from other facts that can be proven and, while not considered to be strong evidence, it can be relevant in a workplace investigation, which has a different burden of proof than a criminal investigation.
            😉

      • Read my comments above in response to the one Bomber fan and my labor day experience. Again it blows my mind how you can be so ignorant and unable to see how ridiculous you are.

  46. The only thing we blame you of is being so ignorant that you can never see just how wrong and rediculous you are.

  47. white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 4:09 pm //

So if on Sept 24 BLM tweets out -A rider fan spit on me today. Rider fans are the worst!!!…..I wonder how different Rider fans would feel about this?
Weren’t rider fans calling out Bo for tweeting out earlier this is year. For criticising some officiating and calling out a mouthy Ottawa player? ….but suddenly it’s ok to accuse someone of spitting and calling out the whole fans base…interesting

  48. Anyone with at least half a brain can understand that Carter and in your scenario BLM would be doing so out of frustration and feeling disrespected. I personally would be wanting to smack the dumbass that did the spitting upside his head for being a disrespectful a$$hat. I sure as hell wouldn’t be putting the blame on BLM for being upset and disrespected. See that is the difference between you and I dare say the majority of people. Instead of looking for a reason to criticize an opposing teams player…we can see it for what it is. ONCE AGAIN all fanbases have their share of idiots. There are many great fans across the league that don’t feel the need to be jerks. Unfortunately it is the idiots that stand out…..by appearances there is likely only 4 or 5 Stamp fans in the world right based on what we see here right….see what I did there?

  49. Paul Bomber // September 5, 2017 at 7:34 pm //

    Make a deal with ya…
Loud, obnoxious, banjo-picking inbreds stay away from IGF, and we’ll stay away from the Toilet Bowl in Regina.

    • But if we don’t show up at IGF you will NEVER fill your stands and then you toothless yahoos can spit on each other

      • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 8:20 pm //

Blah blah blah… stop the myth. Your fans are no more then anywhere if your children chose to live there

    • justforkicks // September 5, 2017 at 7:47 pm //

Don’t fall into that trap Paul. The rider fan base has no ill feelings towards yours. We likely have the same % of total idiots that think they are fans as yours. Carter is hot blooded and shoots off a lot which I think explains his spur of the moment response to a bad incident that is getting too much coverage. I hope he will see his calling out all bomber fans was a bit over the top. Any time I have spent in another team’s barn I had a lot of fun and yes there were digs but they went both ways and in the end it was never personal. Don’t forget where the whole “banjo bowl” concept came from. It was a bomber player but in the end it has been embraced by both teams as a competitive thing, hopefully not personal.

    • You don’t need to spread that kind of knee-jerk garbage. Take a cue and act like a human being instead of making smart remarks like that. Most Rider and Bomber fans respect each other. And MOST are model citizens as well. No need to start making a case for being a smartass, eh.

    • Paul, you don’t have to spread that knee-jerk garbage around. Most Rider and Bomber fans RESPECT each other. And MOST are model citizens as well. No need to making a case for being a smart-ass, eh. I’m sure the Bombers will be looking for redemption inside their own ballpark, just as we were looking for the same after losing on Canada Day. Two very good football teams in the west.

  50. justforkicks // September 5, 2017 at 9:09 pm //

Carters latest stance if anyone is really interested:

“It’s just spit!” Carter joked on Tuesday. “It’s just spit. No police, none of that. I don’t think the dude was allowed back into the stadium. I think that’s good enough. Everybody makes mistakes.”

    • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 10:15 pm //

A lot different than what he said yesterday.
Clearly his bosses are pulling his collar telling him to smarten up..we’ll see how long he behaves

As I said before, in the heat of the moment! Your 1st response is not always one to be proud of and he was man enough to acknowledge no lasting damage. As a project manager I wrote many heated e-mails responding to what I thought was ridiculous. Fortunately I usually deleted them and replied diplomatically instead. I’m sure you have had moments like that or have you lived your 40+ years in perfection always maintaining a cool demeanor.

        • white stallion in red // September 5, 2017 at 11:33 pm //

Gee didn’t I suggest earlier today he should have taken a more diplomatic approach? I was told by everyone what an idiot I was and he took the right approach to this…hmmm.I’m running out of crow and humble pie recipes.
