Bo Levi says Zach Collaros can ‘turn it around and become MOP’

Bo Knows what it takes to win CFL MOP.

While Mitchell was enjoying Calgary’s bye week he tuned in to watch the Hamilton Tiger-Cats take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and delivered a strong message in regards to Ticats quarterback Zach Collaros.

Mitchell and Collaros squared off in the 2014 Grey Cup and have had some duels over their CFL careers. Plus, June Jones, who coached Mitchell when he was at Southern Methodist University, has been installed as the de facto offensive coordinator in Hamilton. Mitchell has an idea what Jones could mean in helping Collaros get the Tiger-Cats offence purring again.

Oh I’m sure certain people will turn this into a negative story about Bo

  2. Bo Levi Mitchell is not in the stands like am. Collaros is a slow starter which is a historical pattern causing us to always play “catchup football”. If there are sixteen thousand fans in this park, I would be surprised as there are tons of empty seats. I am growing tired of Collaros. He is not leading this offence and lacks confidence. Manziel cannot get here fast enough.

Give it a rest. Manziel is NOT coming to Hamilton and only you and your peons think it’s a good idea.

All I can say to that is be careful what you wish for. I really don’t think Collaros is the main problem. Your coach is!

    • You are one funny man lol.NFL hype written all over you man.Collaros has NO offensive line. This guy can play but he has been under seige. Manziel lol Comments like yours is why I hate sites like this

Manziel is a loser and if you knew anything about the game, you’d know that too…

  3. Just saying // August 12, 2017 at 9:08 pm //

Bo said it so it must be true lol

  4. Argos let Collaros walk for a reason: he needs his defense to get him field position. He can’t earn it on his own merit.

Tell Bo you need an o line to be effective. So no Collaros won’t turn it around. Bo needs to put the mute on!

When you win an MOP you can talk lots too Just saying.
Bo can say what he wants. He wins!

    • hey Bo is just trying to reach out to a qb.who like you say has no o-line gee what do you mean?????OMG

  6. I thought Alberta was ‘rat’ free !

  7. Just saying // August 12, 2017 at 9:29 pm //

    Horsie
Don’t get me wrong Bo’s a great quarterback but, Does Collaros not need an O line to become great again? Bo’s just playing poker, and he’s good at that to.

  8. Conan The Librarian I guess you are content playing a quarterback who is now going to be 0-12 in his last 12 games. This is absolutely pathetic. He is the highest paid player in the entire CFL and he is not pulling his weight. Interview some of the season ticket holders who are being alienated in droves. Something has to give. I like many others are not content playing losing football.

If he had a decent O line, it would be a different story. There has never been an NFL QB who has come to the CFL & had success. And Manziel sure as hell isn’t going to be the first with his track record.

  9. Just saying // August 12, 2017 at 9:33 pm //

    Man they need an Oline

  10. Just saying // August 12, 2017 at 9:36 pm //

Banks is not the banks of old.

  11. Kent Austin re Zach Collaros. “We need better play out of that position and I think June can help”. The writing is on the wall.

  12. I still would like a better field crew working on Saskatchewan ‘s practice field ( McMann Stadium) , there seems to be a roaming rat !

  13. Some of the drops by TC’s tonight were bad throws perhaps but I’ve seen receivers across the league pull those in. It’s not all on the QB.

  14. Pathetic again! How can you blame Collaros? Absolutely NO O Line again, he gets about 2 seconds to throw, constantly rushed throws. Is it Collaro’s fault Gable fumbled the lateral too? Is it Collaro’s fault he gets pressured and hit just about every passing play? Still no running game, and ridiculous play selection. Stupid penalties, and Winnipeg’s last TD, was aided by a questionable roughing the passer? What you are allowed to hit Nichols? Ti-Cat’s defense actually kept the score down to FG’s. Hamilton used to get decent field position from defensive stops. Now they’re on the field too long, to get rested. This is on Kent Austin, V.P. of Football Operation, H.C. and O.C. Pastel isn’t calling the plays. June Jones is going to the saviour? Austin has had 3 years to draft and form a viable, protective O Line, and blocks for a decent running attack. He has failed at player evaluation, him, Tillman, Mitchell and the whole scouting team. Sorry NO playoffs this year for Ti-Cats. 2 more years of Austin?,do us fans a favour Kent, step down your coaching and talent selection is obviously inferior, to all other CFL teams, thus the 0-7 start. Guess I have to go out and purchase a paper bag.

The O-Line is not good and definitely a major contributor to the problem, but at the same time Collaros is playing “panic-mode” football – Even when he is not under direct pressure he makes bad decisions and does things like the one sack last night by running right towards the pressure instead of away from it. Add to that that he is not throwing the football well and bad play calls from the OC (who calls for lateral on second and 19?)and he is nowhere near an MOP (sorry Bo). They need to sit Zach (let him analyze his receivers and the opposing defence from the sidelines – even is only for a half) and let Masoli do his chip away offence (no Masoli is not a flashy quarterback but he is effective at moving the ball)

Tired of watching….after over 50 years….when a quarterback can’t generate results (over thrown balls, behind the back passes, poor laterals…passes that are infrequently crisp) he needed to sit. He is not mobile as he was in the past…containable and then sacked….or harried and not the “old” Collaros that could make something magic happen. Still feel that O-line needs to open up holes for the running game to balance the attack….Bombers 4 man rush still got to “C”…could see Tyms wondering why a forced pass to Tasker….when he was Tyms was near and open. Don’t buy poor talent….receivers are making some great catches (on some not that well thrown balls). Give Collaros a rest…..two quarterbacks till you find someone that can produce. If the playbook is solid then there should be a QB that can run it…if not on the roster then from elsewhere…..Hope Masoli was not concussed…he took a headshot….

The issues with Collaros are really multifaceted. The poor play of the O-Line, poor play calling and offensive scheme, Coaching, no run game, and some untimely drops by the receivers.

I would sit Collaros for a couple or a few games. He is playing panic mode football due to a lack of protection. The O-Line has needed work for several seasons now yet the cats have failed to upgrade it. Add in a rookie coach for the O-Line and that was a recipe for the disaster we are witnessing.

I think that the coaching of this team is poor and quite frankly the worst in the CFL right now. Pass first and run 1-6 times per game does not work. PERIOD. I get that you don’t need to run the ball 20+ times per game, however, running it less then 10 times per game makes your play calling very predictable. A decent running game makes your passing game that much better. Right now the cats are near zero run threat and teams really just have to play pass protection constantly to shut their offence down.

I do not expect things to change so long as the current staff is in place. June Jones is a very good coach, however, he is pass first and damn the running game just like Austin and Ptasek. Why on earth do I expect the team to finally by a clue and go more balanced.

I do believe that Bo is right in that Collaros can be an elite QB again in this league. I have no doubt about that, however, I fear that this current disaster of a Cats team will be the end of him.

I am hoping at the end of this season that there will be a major house cleaning in terms of coaching and front office staff. Tillman and the scouts need to go as their lack of talent recruiting is hurting this team. Talent wise the cats are the 9th best in this league. I agree with others that have said they would bring in Ed Hervey to be GM.

I will still watch and cheer for the team even though this is going to be another painful season.
