Edmonton running back John White will miss the remainder of the 2017 season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, the team announced Monday,
The 25-year-old suffered the setback in the first quarter of the Eskimos 23-19 victory over Montreal on Friday night. Travon Van took over for White and ran the ball 17 times for 50 yards and one touchdown while adding four catches for 21 yards.
It’s the second season-ending injury White has suffered in the last three years, he tore his Achilles during training camp in 2015 and missed that whole campaign.
Rookie Mississippi State product LaDarius Perkins is the only other running back on Edmonton’s (practice) roster at the moment. So expect the club to add one in the near future.
