Argos sign former Redblacks receiver Khalil Paden

The Toronto Argonauts have signed international receiver Khalil Paden.

The six-foot-one, 180-pounder signs in Toronto after spending parts of the last three seasons with the Ottawa Redblacks. He appeared in 19 regular season games, catching 39 passes for 626 yards and a touchdown.

Prior to signing with the Redblacks in 2015, the 26-year-old spent time with the Calgary Stampeders, the Arena Football League’s Orlando Predators and the United Football League’s Sacramento Mountain Lions.

  1. Good pickup. He’s a decent receiver. #sleeper

    • Yeah. He was the only RedBlacks receiver in 2014 that looked like he might be worth a damn. Hurt much of 2015 and regressed a bit in 2016 (by his own admission) but you could do a lot worse.

Now all we need is a coach and GM, I remember some of those 39 catches, yes he was impressive, though I recall we had some good receivers last fall until the coach and GM had a mental breakdown, bringing in Willy etc

Just breaking…Tom Clements seen getting off plane at Pearson Intl airport, swept away in a black SUV with license plate argo1… Can we read anything into this?

  4. Never heard of the new receiver, what a news grabbing story for the Argos. First they sign lead footed QB Jeff Matthews and now a little known receiver from the Red Blacks. Great day for the Argos, the team of nobodies except for old man, Broken Ricky Ray.

But if Clements is in town, everything changes. He’s smart enuf to be coach and GM like Jones in Regina. Guy’s a lawyer, and was a great QB for the ‘Peg. Let this WAG be true, please, please.
