Bombers release veteran QB Kevin Glenn

Winnipeg released veteran quarterback Kevin Glenn on Friday.

“The decision was made to grant Kevin the opportunity to explore other options after we informed him we weren’t going to be able to immediately come to an agreement contractually,” said Blue Bombers General Manager Kyle Walters. “Given Kevin’s longevity and veteran status in our league, we felt it was appropriate and the right thing to do given the circumstances.”

The 37-year-old was acquired by the Bombers in September for a fourth round pick in 2017.

Sign him Edmonton, because you could loose James Franklin. As I recall Eskimos are the only team on which Glenn has not been on their roster.

Franklin might (or might not) be on a 2 year contract that will keep him in Edmonton in 2017. He is NOT on the CFL’s official list of potential FA in 2017. Maybe Glenn will go back to Montreal ?

  3. I’m gong to miss Kevin Glenn! He was great insurance for the Bombers!!

  4. I Have much respect for Kevin and wish the utmost luck in finding steady playing time.

Glenn has had a long and hopefully lucrative career. Unfortunately he has been dumped by most teams. This is the guy that should be doing all the Bitchin’ but Burris has the crown in that regard. Best of luck Kevin.

  7. This won’t be the end for Glenn.

Despite becoming the definitive “journeyman” and insurance policy, he’s had some very good seasons when he’s started a full slate of games. His career stats will put him among the top CFL QBs of all time.

  8. None are so blind as those that will not see.
