All-star CFL LB Adam Bighill signs with Saints

Linebacker Adam Bighill has signed with the New Orleans Saints, according to multiple sources.

The 28-year-old recorded 108 tackles – third most in the CFL – five sacks and one interception in 2016 for the BC Lions while earning league all-star honours for the fourth time in his six-year CFL career.

Based on a clause in his contract, the five-foot-10, 230-pound tackler was allowed a window until January 27, 2017 to explore NFL chances. If Bighill did not sign with an NFL team within that time period he would’ve remained under contract with the Leos through the 2018 season.

Wow. You said it Zugerfan. They have mined this league quite well the last couple of years. Sure wish we had not lost Eric Harris. Maybe he will be back one day

Just wondering what is holding Kent Austin up from making some signings? Seems other CFL teams have been locking up players. Has Kent ran out of sneaky good moves? I would settle for just a good move at this point. Is owens coming back? How about hiring a DC? There must be some sneaky good DC signing out there somewhere. oh well, when you are the smartest guy in the room like Kent thinks he is, I guess you can wait forever to start rebuilding a team. Now that is sneaky good!!!!

  4. The Saints are becoming devils in stealing away CFL talent.Damn the NFL.
