Canadian DB Shane Herbert signs with Riders

Defensive back Shane Herbert has inked a deal with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, per CFL sources.

The 27-year-old spent three seasons with the Argos, after going undrafted in 2011, before he was released among Toronto’s final cuts. He played in 34 games for the Argos recording eight special teams tackles and one forced fumble.

  2. Jones trying to mitigate the effects of a not-so-great draft? – at least regarding immediate prospects for this season. No further word on St. John deciding to sign either. Maybe they will trade him away.
